Frequently asked questions
Which Google Pixel phones support eSIM?
Every Pixel since the Pixel 3 (2018) supports eSIM. Some Pixel 3 and 3a units sold in Japan, Taiwan, Australia and parts of Southeast Asia shipped without it.
Does my phone need to be unlocked?
Yes. A phone locked to a carrier only takes that carrier's eSIMs. Ask your carrier to unlock it before you travel; it's usually free once your contract is paid off.
Can I use a travel eSIM on my Pixel?
Yes, if it's on the list above and carrier-unlocked. Your main SIM stays in place for calls and texts while the travel eSIM handles data.
